The makers of one of Heche’s most recent films, the Lifetime film Girl in Room 13, said at a virtual panel for the Television Critics Association that the film is still expected to debut in September.

What happened on Mar Vista on Aug 05, 2022?

According to the Fox News report, on Aug 5, 2022, footage from a residence showed Anne Heche speeding in the neighborhood of Mar Vista, Los Angeles, in her blue Mini Cooper.  At around 11 a.m., her car crashed into a garage first and then took a reverse and fled the scene evading the neighbors who tried to bring her out. She then dashed into a house, and the car went around 30 feet into the house. The crash ignited the car into flames. The shocked neighbors informed the police and the fire rescue team.

Around 59 firefighters fought for around 30 minutes to rescue her from the raging fire. Nobody could stand near the car as smoke made breathing difficult. She was seen writhing in pain while being transported on the stretcher. She was rushed to the nearby hospital. It took nearly 65 minutes to put out the fire.

Her representative stated that “She has a significant pulmonary injury requiring mechanical ventilation and burns that require surgical intervention.” “She is in a coma and has not regained consciousness since shortly after the accident.” she was pronounced brain dead and was on life support for a few days to check if her organs could be donated. On Aug 12, 2022, she succumbed to death.

Is drive under influence behind the crash?

According to KSBY, the investigation of the fiery crash revealed a drive under influence felony as the Los Angeles Police Department got the lab results from her blood drawn on the day of the accident. The results brought to light that she had narcotics in her blood. However, more tests are going to be administered to rule out additional substances administered at the hospital.

Rumors and assumptions about her driving under the influence were spreading fast as a podcast where Heche was seen drinking vodka with her co-star. However, the program was taken down from the media after the actress’s untimely demise.

According to the report by the New York Post, TMZ initially released startling photographs of the long-struggling actress being carried away from the horror crash after her Mini caught fire after hitting a house in Mar Vista hours after the podcast episode was uploaded.

As per the report of Meaww.com, An image of her in the car with a red-capped bottle in the glove box that appears to be vodka reinforces the drive under influence as the cause of the crash.

The crash was too fast and horrible that the homeowners, who “very narrowly escaped,” lost “an entire lifetime of stuff, souvenirs,” along with household goods and items from their place of employment. The woman of the house actually escaped with minor injuries. On August 6, the Los Angeles Fire Department confirmed that the vehicle had driven 30 feet into the two-story home, which had been deemed unsafe to enter after the fire had been extinguished.

According to MARCA, Heche has previously spoken about her drinking issues, which she blamed on her difficult upbringing. She claims that her father sexually abused her as a child and that no one in her immediate surroundings, including her mother, did anything to stop it.

Having seen how drive under influence made the beloved star of many to encounter a horrific death, will there be an end to driving under the influence? Let’s hope for a better change among the citizens of America.

Coroner Report Clears Mystery in Heche’s Death

As the latest update by the Los Angeles Times, Heche’s autopsy report was completed. According to coroner’s conclusions issued on August 17, 2022, actress Anne Heche died from inhalation injuries and burns sustained in the horrific car crash, and her death was deemed an accident. The USA Today reports that according to the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner-website, Coroner’s report Heche also suffered a cracked sternum caused by “blunt trauma.” Her death date was given as August 11 by the coroner’s office.

Is drive under influence crashes a daily occurrence?

About 32 people per day, or one every 45 minutes, perish in drive under influence accidents in the United States. Drivers between the ages of 21 and 24 make up another 27% of all fatal alcohol-impaired crashes, followed closely by drivers between the ages of 25 and 34 (25%), says NHTSA. However, it has been demonstrated that the enforcement of minimum drinking age regulations has saved over 30,000 lives.

The White House’s Office of National Drug Control Policy asserted an encompassing principle in its National Drug Control Strategy: “preventing drugged driving must become a national priority on par with preventing drunk driving.” Driving while impaired by alcohol or illegal drugs such as marijuana, cocaine, hallucinogens, or heroin endangers public safety. Addiction can impair perception, cognition, attention, balance, coordination, and other brain functions required for safe driving. To drive under the influence has been linked to reckless driving, car accidents, and fatalities.

The NHTSA data in 2020 shows the horrifying drive under influence fatalities in the U.S.

drive-while-intoxicated

According to a survey conducted by The Zebra, in 2021, 37.8% of respondents believed that Generation Y (millennials) are the group most likely to drive under influence, followed by Generation Z (from 16-24 years old) with a 29.4%.

Legal consequences of driving under the influence

Over the years, there have been substantial changes in drunk driving legislation, and some states have taken the initiative to add additional regulations on top of the federal traffic laws. Offenses involving drive under influence may be considered misdemeanors or even felonies, and they frequently include fines, license suspensions, and even jail time.

First-time DUI offenders may be required to pay more than $10,000 in penalties and court costs and may experience temporary license suspension, whereas repeat DUI offenders often face jail time and permanent license revocation. The legal repercussions are even more severe if there are injuries or fatalities in an accident that you caused while intoxicated.

Never ever think that only driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs would end you up facing a DUI charge. Even if you drive under influence of prescription drugs and cause crashes, you will face the same legal proceedings of a misdemeanor or felony for a drunk driving case.

To wrap up,

Do you want your life to thrive? Don’t drive under influence. If your mind and legs are not steady, avoid being behind the wheels. Undertaking inebriated driving will be detrimental to the driver as well as other innocent people on the way.

Stay away from driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs and save your lives.

Let’s pray for Heche’s soul to rest in peace.
